Five people have died on the nations roads in seperate road accidents over the New Year holiday.
A man in his 20s died in a single car collision in County Longford on New Years Day.
A 19 year old motorcyclist died following a road traffic collision in Ballymun on Dublin's northside on New Years Day also.
While three people were killed in a car crash in Co. Meath on New Year’s Eve.
Two of those who died in the crash in County Meath, have been named locally as Saoirse Corrigan and Shane Gilchrist, both in their 20s, of Castlepollard County Westmeath.
Saoirse worked in St Clare's College, Ballyjamesduff and she was amongst those three who lost their lives in the crash in County Meath.
A woman in her 20s, the driver of the second car was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown to be treated for her injuries where she later died.
A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in the incident.
Two baby girls were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda, to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
