Tributes have poured in following the tragic death of Cavan boxer, Harrison Jameson.
The 23-year-old died following a crash on the A1 just outside Newry on Tuesday evening when the car he was driving came off the road on the Dublin Road, Cloghoge.
The Ballyjamesduff native was an amateur boxer for the Virginia Boxing Club and had just recently turned professional with the view of making his debut soon.
In a heartfelt tribute posted to social media, Virginia Boxing Club said Harrison was a "credit" to the club, who watched him grow from a little boy into the man he was today.
The post stated that the 23-year-old had "everything in his hands ready for him" and was just about to have his first pro debut on November 19th.
Elsewhere, friends described him as a "beautiful young man" with one posting, "I had the pleasure of working with Harrison; everyone loved him, he had this easy going, gentle charm about him. He worked hard and he was always mannerly and helpful. He was an incredible young man, simply one of the best."
His funeral service will take place in Bellasis Presbyterian Church on Sunday at two o'clock with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
