Tributes are being paid to a Longford woman who has died after being stabbed at a pub in Queens, New York.
41-year-old Sarah McNally was taken to Elmhurst Hospital after being stabbed in the neck on Saturday evening. She was pronounced dead soon after.
Sarah McNally hailed from Co. Longford, but had lived in New York for ten years. Comments are flooding in on social media, expressing their sympathy to the family and friends of Sarah McNally far and wide.
Longford Councillor Martin Monaghan says the news has come as a terrible shock for the town where she grew up, and where a lot of people know her.
