Monaghan councillor Cathy Bennett has expressed her sadness following the untimely death of Michael (Mickey) Boylan. The former Monaghan County Council staff member died on Monday, February 13th. Following the news of his death, Cllr Bennett said the entire community of Scotstown was in a "state of shock".
Cllr Paudge Connolly also extended his sympathies to the late Mickey Boylan at Monday's monthly sitting of Monaghan County Council. The late Mickey Boylan will repose at his home from 2pm today until removal on Friday morning at 10:15am to arrive for his Funeral Mass at 11am at St Mary's Urbleshanny.
In a heartfelt tribute posted to social media, Scotstown GAA stated; "It with great sadness that our club learned of the untimely passing of our gentle friend Michael Boylan. Michael (Mickey) was a great life long supporter of our club, an excellent team manager of many of our adult teams over the years, one of the longest standing Ciste Sellers, and a great ambassador through many other roles and responsibilities Michael diligently dedicated to our club.
"We would like to pass on our sympathy and deepest condolences his dear mother Maureen, his partner Chrissy, his brothers & sisters Sheila, Maureen, Geraldine, Nicholas, Kathleen, Margaret, Anne and Maurice, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his extended family, his work colleagues in Monaghan County Council and a wide circle of friends. May Mickey's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace."
