Yesterday's monthly meeting of Cavan County Council marked the last council meeting for Cllr Madeleine Argue.
The Fine Gael representative is standing down after 25 years representing the people of Cavan, including as Cathaoirleach in 2018.
All present at the meeting yesterday paid tribute to Cllr Argue and wished her well in the future.
First elected to office in 1999, Cllr Argue is the daughter of the late Senator Andy O’Brien. Madeleine's daughter Niamh Brady is contesting the upcoming local elections in a bid to retain her mothers seat in the Cavan Belturbet Municipal District.
