There has been yet another adjournment in the trial of Aaron Brady, who was found guilty four years ago of murdering Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe. The 33-year-old, who's from Crossmaglen in Armagh, is accused of conspiring with another man to persuade a witness not to give evidence at his murder trial. In 2020, Aaron Brady was convicted of murdering Detective Adrian Donohoe outside Lordship Credit Union – a crime he’ll have to serve at least 40 years in prison for.
This trial concerns an allegation that he conspired with another man (Dean Byrne from Cabra Park, Phibsborough, Dublin) to persuade a prosecution witness not to testify at Brady’s murder trial. Brady is also accused of a further attempt to pervert the course of justice by recording a video of another witness being interviewed by gardai.
The trial was due to open on Monday but has now been adjourned for a third day in a row with the prosecution barrister due to take instructions from the DPP following what were described as “constructive talks” with Brady’s barrister.
