Around 30 people from Monaghan with the Treanor surname travelled to Prince Edward Island off the east coast of Canada for the latest gathering last week.

It's the first time the Treanor gathering has taken place outside of Monaghan where evidence suggests the name originated at the foot of Sliabh Beag.
