A new whiskey society has been set up in Co Monaghan.
It's the brain child of two local men Martin MacKenna and John McClave.
The inaugural event takes place in Andy's Bar on the 29th of September and tickets, which cost €22.50, are currently on sale at Eventbrite.
All profits on the night will be donated to Monaghan Crocus cancer support group.
Martin told Northern Sound that it's important to try different whiskeys because each has its own craft and is part of a small and competitive market.
"If distilleries can build a market here then they can look outside the borders," he added.
"Killowen in Co Down has gotten in to America and Canada now - that is great for them because they are a small distillery.
"But that is only one of a number of distilleries and their distillery started life as a cow shed."
