The public toilets at Rossmore Park are "a constant source of complaint from visitors".
And with almost 360,000 visitors to the public park last year. it's now time to invest in new toilet facilities at the most visited wooded park in Ireland. That's according to Monaghan Municipal District Councillor Paudge Connolly who repeated calls by others to upgrade the facilities.
A spokesperson for Monaghan County Council, who has responsibility for the maintenance and upgrade of toilets at the park, said plans to improve them are in the pipeline. Councillor Connolly says that since Rossmore can have up to 3,000 visitors a day, there must be suitable public facilities: "I believe now that Rossmore Park with at times, up to 3,000 visitors per day, absolutely neds new purpose-built toilets not the ones we have," Cllr Connolly told Northern Sound, "They're a constant source of complaint from visitors to the park; that there's no proper facilities and we're the most visited park in Ireland so we should have the facilities to match."
