Today marks one year since the October 7th attacks in Israel. Around 1,200 people were killed when Hamas launched a surprise attack, with 250 others taken hostage. It triggered the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with over 41,000 people killed by Israeli forces in Gaza in the last 12 months.
Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland, Dr. Jilan Abdelmajid, says nothing justifies the killing of innocent people, and described the global response to Israel's actions since as a "failure".
"They attack schools and hospitals," she said, "There is no health system and the majority of people killed are women and children. 16,000 and more children are killed and why? Why? This is the bog question: it is a failure of the international community for pone year not to be able to stop this vicious war against the Palestinians."
