Today marks one year since the abduction and assault of QIH Director Kevin Lunney.
On the evening of September 17th 2019, the businessman was forcibly taken from near his home in Kinawley, attacked and left on the roadside in Cavan.
Twelve months ago, director and Chief Operating Officer of Quinn Industrial Holdings Kevin Lunney was abducted on his way home from work.
He was taken to a location in Cavan, had his leg broken, fingernails and face sliced with a Stanley knife, QIH carved on his chest, and was doused in bleach.
He was found on the roadside in rural County Cavan, as he outlined in an interview on BBC last year.
Gardai and PNSI launched a large cross-border investigation, with a number of searches and arrests being carried out.
In early November, searches were carried out at locations in Cavan, Longford, Dublin and Derbyshire in England - with the main suspect Cyril "Dublin Jimmy" McGuinness dying during the police search in the UK.
On November 26th, four men appeared before Virginia District Court, under a heavy armed garda presence, charged in relation to the attack.
66 year old Luke O'Reilly of Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy County Cavan; 25 year old Darren Redmond of Caledon Road, East Wall Dublin; 39 year old Alan O'Brien from Shelmalier Road, East Wall, Dublin and a fourth who cannot be named.
They are charged with abduction and false imprisonment, and are due before the non-jury Special Criminal Court next January, in a trial that contains over 50,000 documents.
All four deny involvement.
