Today marks 48 years since the abduction of Columba McVeigh who was murdered by the IRA in 1975.
It was Halloween night when the 19 year old was abducted in Dublin, shot and secretly buried by the IRA.
Columba's family have waited now almost five decades to have his remains returned so they can give the 19 year old a Christian burial.
Columba's sister Dympna Kerr paid a private visit to the site at Bragan Bog, where the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains have been searching for her brother Columba since October last year with several breaks because of severe weather conditions.
That search in Bragan Bog is currently nearing the end. Speaking this afternoon to Northern Sound, Columba's sister Dympna says she will never give up hope in finding her brother's remains. She says she prays for that news every single day.
Acknowledging the search at Bragan Bog is nearing an end, Ms Kerr urged anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with information on any of the four outstanding Disappeared cases — Joe Lynskey, Columba McVeigh, Robert Nairac and Seamus Maguire is being asked to contact the ICLVR. It can be contacted in the strictest of confidence by phone at 01 602 8655, by email at [email protected] or by post to ICLVR PO Box 10827
