Three people received fines for having "unlicensed TV sets" at yesterday's sitting of Monaghan District Court.
A representative from An Post told the court that the three TV licence evasions cost the exchequer a combined €357.
Two people were ordered to pay a fine of €200 each, while a third was hit with a €53 euro fine.
All three have two months to pay the fine.
The Government recently decided "to maintain but overhaul the current licence fee" in order to "minimise the risk of political interference in media independence and reduce the burden on the Exchequer".
