Three people have been arrested following a mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoint in Co Cavan.
The Cavan Roads Policing Unit and members from Bailieborough District conducted the checkpoint yesterday morning on the N3, from 5.30am to 9am.
Over forty drivers were tested for alcohol and seven were tested for drugs.
Three arrests were made for drug driving and blood samples were taken.
One vehicle was also detained for having no insurance and the motorist had no driving licence.
There were also a number of Fixed Payment Notices issued for no tax, lighting and other offences.
