Three locals are to run from Monaghan to Mayo for a charity fundraiser at a distance of 210 kms.
Ailbhe Quinn, Bob Grace and Eimear Sammon will be running from Latton in Co Monaghan to Westport in Co Mayo over 72 hours for two very special causes.
The distance of five marathons will see the three locals travel across the country on St Patrick's Weekend.
There is a go fund me page set to with a 50,000 euro goal and they have already reached 8,000 so far.
They are raising much-needed funds for Fowlers Syndrome and the Liver Unit, St. Vincent's University Hospital.
Fowlers Syndrome is a little-known chronic bladder condition that has massively impacted the life of their friend Aoife.
The Liver Unit, St. Vincent's University Hospital, has been instrumental in caring for Ailbhe’s brother Daire before, during and after his liver transplant surgery due to chronic illness.
Both causes are very close to all three runners' hearts, and all money raised will be split evenly between both charities.
