Three local convenience stores across Cavan and Monaghan have won big at this year national retailer awards XL event that was held this week in Athlone.
XL stores in Blacklion, Ballinode and Carrickmacross were honoured for their outstanding commitment to their local communities.
Sarah McCann from XL Blacklion was presented with the award for Best Sustainability Initiative on the night in recognition of their undertaking a number of initiatives to ensure its environmental sustainability including using wind generated energy and solar panels.
Cassidy's XL Carrickmacross came away with the Best Coffee Offering award and Busawah's XL Ballinode was named Best High Street Newcomer on the night.
The XL Retail Awards are presented to XL stores that demonstrated outstanding industry excellence following a comprehensive programme of inspections and audits carried out by Ireland's leading Retail Audit Company.
