A man in his 30s has been charged in relation to a shooting incident in which three Gardaí were injured in Longford. It happened yesterday morning in Edgeworthstown.
"Gardaí called to a house in Edgeworthstown yesterday morning executing a number of court orders," Andrew Louth reports, "Shortly after officers arrived at the home a man present fired, what is believed to have been a pellet gun a number of times at unarmed gardaí. Three gardaí received minor injuries and are receiving welfare supports.
"The man in his thirties, then fled the scene and was subsequently arrested after follow-up searches by the air support unit. He has since been charged and will appear before Athlone District Court this morning."
