Fianna Fail held it's party convention for the Cavan-Monaghan constituency last night in the Errigal Country House Hotel in Cootehill. The convention was chaired by Finance Minister Jack Chambers who was also on the canvas trail throughout the day yesterday across the region.
The party opted for a three candidate strategy like what they have done in the two previous general elections. Deputy Niamh Smyth, Deputy Brendan Smith and Monaghan's Robbie Gallagher were all selected to run in the upcoming General Election. The two sitting Fianna Fáil TD’s are again targeting Cavan while Senator Gallagher will be concentrating on the County of Monaghan.
