Three female councillors in Co Monaghan have been nominated for the
Roscommon Women's Caucus.
There are only three female councillors in the county, meaning it lacks the
ability to have its own caucus.
Roscommon Women's Caucus will include several other councils that also lack
enough female representatives.
Sinn Féin's Cathy Bennett raised the motion at a recent County Council
meeting that will see herself and Councillors Aoife McCooey and Mary Kerr
Conlon nominated to the cross-county women's caucus.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Councillor Bennett says it will
enable these councillors to bring back ideas and initiatives from other
councils to Monaghan:
