Thousands of ESB customers are still without power across the Northern Sound region following Storm Isha. While locals have already been left without power since Sunday, tomorrow evening is the predicted restoration time for many households and businesses across Cavan and Monaghan. According to ESB, the scale of damage to electricity networks has left many customers without power for a number of days, with the incoming Storm Jocelyn causing a potential threat to further delays.
Ballyjamesduff in Co Cavan is the worst affected area in the Northern Sound region with close to 1,000 power outages recorded at this time. Elsewhere in Co Cavan, 125 customers have no power in Cootehill, 63 customers have no power in Virginia, 114 outages have been recorded in the Ballyconnell area, 180 in Shercock and finally there is close to 400 homes still without power in Cavan Town.
Looking to Co Monaghan, 146 customers are still without power in Clones, 166 in Drumbear, 147 customers are without power in Ballybay and finally 16 power outages have been recorded in the village of Emyvale. Galway and Mayo are now under a status orange wind warning, with Donegal to follow at six o'clock. The rest of the country is under a status yellow wind alert as Storm Jocelyn moves near Ireland. It's not expected to be as damaging as the storm at the weekend, however everywhere will be affected by Jocelyn's winds.
