Over 26,000 adults and nearly 4,600 children are waiting on out-patient treatments at hospitals across Cavan, Meath and Louth.
There are a total of 6,522 adults and 1,078 children on lists at Cavan General Hospital while 11,009 adults and 3,509 children are in the same position at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda; 3,117 adults are waiting at Louth County Hospital while 5,908 adults and three children are listed at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.
This latest information comes on foot of figures released at a recent heath forum meeting by the HSE on the back of a question by Monaghan Fianna Fail Cllr, Seamus Coyle. The list in Cavan includes 1,108 women in Gynaecology; and 974 adults in Orthopeadics; 838 in Otolaryngology; 630 in Dermathology; 590 for general surgery; and 557 for respiratory machines.
In Drogheda, 2,855 adults are waiting for treatment in Dermathology; 1,277 are in Gynaecology; and there are 1,241 in Otolaryngology. 1,684 children are waiting on peadatric treatments including 330 for surgery; 837 in dermatology; and 120 for orthopeadics while at Louth County Hospital there are 1,608 adults waiting for treatments in orthopedics; 537 in general surgery; and 256 in gynaecology.
And, in Navan Hospital 1,600 adults are waiting in orthopeadics; 1,036 in cardiology and 885 are waiting for general medicine treatment. Meanwhile, the figures for inpatient/day care waiting lists were also released to Cllr Coyle.
They reveal that nearly 2,500 adults and 55 children are waiting for various treatments at the local and regional hospitals. There are 275 adults and four children at Cavan General Hospital; 691 adults and 51 children at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda; 390 adults are waiting at Louth County Hospital; and 956 adults are currently waiting on surgery and other treatments at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.
