The Tánaiste, Micheál Martin, believes the new post-Brexit deal between the EU and the UK could pave the way for significant economic opportunities. The 'Windsor Framework' will remove many of the trade barriers currently in place in Northern Ireland.
The DUP is examining the deal. The Tánaiste's welcoming the agreement saying it offers an opportunity to re-set relationships. "Given all of the challenges facing Europe and the world in terms of the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, it's important the the relationship between the EU and the UK is constructive and in harmony.
"It gives and opportunity in terms of the resetting of the Ireland UK relationship; and it does create opportunities for the restoration of the Assembly and the Executive, and the institutions of the Good Friday Agreement." he added.
