'Think' before you get behind the wheel this festive season.
That's the message from Alan McGovern, the Garda Chief Superintendent for the Louth, Cavan, Monaghan division.
He's appealing to motorists to ask the question are you OK to drive? The local Chief Superintendent says a split second can devastate families and communities and he wants people to enjoy this time of year but wants everyone to remain safe when taking to the roads.

He said one road fatality is one too many. Sadly, there are too many dinner tables this Christmas that will have an empty seat.
Mr McGovern has this message for motorists across the Northern Sound region.
