Local NDLS centres have reopened today.
The offices in Cavan and Monaghan are among the twenty that are part of the first phase announced by the RSA and Department of Transport.
Attendance is by appointment only, which can be booked online.
The validity of learner permits and driving licences expiring since March 20th have been extended by four months.
People are being asked to check online to see if their licence can be renewed without needing to attend and NDLS centre.

Driver Theory testing has resumed around the country.
All 43 centres are open again from today, with some centres working extended hours or on a Saturday to facilitate demand.
Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid-19 are advised not to attend, their appointment will be rescheduled free of charge.

Minister Shane Ross is still looking at how and when practical driving tests can safely resume.
15 NCT centres reopened this morning, but drivers in Cavan and Monaghan will need to wait until the end of the month to see testing resume locally.
The centres which opened where selected in line with Government travel advice and to cater for areas of a larger population.
It was confirmed to Northern Sound News that testing in Cavan and Monaghan will resume before the end of June.
Priority is being given to motorists who were given only a partial test earlier this year because of faulty inspection lifts.
During the suspension of services due to Covid-19 NCTS worked to replace these lifts.
All centres will now have fully functioning lifts when they reopen, and will conduct testing in full.
Cars which were due to be testing on March 28th or later have had their due date extended by four months.
As part of public health advice, testers will wear disposable gloves when testing the car, but can refuse a test if a car is in an unhygienic condition or if tissues or gloves are in the car.
