The Principal of Ballyhaise College says the €3m in funding the education centre has received from the Department of Agriculture will provide state of the art accommodation for the students from across the north and west who attend the facility.
John Kelly was speaking to Northernsound FM this week following the funding announcement by Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue.
Mr Kelly said a "wonderful" opportunity had been afforded to the college to provide accommodation to a standard that students deserved.
He also pointed out that the college has seen "many changes" over the last 100 years and climate action and the role that farmers have to play in that has become part of those changes.
The Principal said farmers are committed to climate action and students at Ballyhaise College are endeavoring to adopt 'best practice' and to ensure they 'practice what they preach' on farms.
