'The Man Who Wanted To Fly' filmed locally was a labour of love

The film that was released a number of years ago is based on Bobby Coote and his brother Ernie.

A film director has been looking back at an internationally renowned film that was filmed in Co Cavan.

It took five and a half years for the film 'The Man Who Wanted To Fly' to be completed. Frank Shouldice, director of 'The Man Who Wanted To Fly' which was based on two Cavan brothers was certainly a labour of love.

The film that was released a number of years ago is based on Bobby Coote and his brother Ernie. The international award winning documentary was filmed in Bailieboro and it was about seeing a local man achieve a lifelong dream of his to fly. Frank said it was a wonderful story and he says he enjoyed every minute working on it over the years.
