The Justice Minister has received the final report into the death of Monaghan man Shane O'Farrell.
In 2019, Judge Gerard Haughton was commissioned to carry out an inquiry in the circumstances of Mr O'Farrell's death.
He was killed in a hit and run incident while cycling his bike in 2011.
Local TD Niamh Smyth submitted a question to Minister Helen McEntee, asking if she would provide an update on the inquiry.
In response, Minister McEntee said "Judge Haughton submitted his final report to me on the first of June."
The Justice Minister added that the advice of the Attorney General was sought upon receipt of the final report.
Minister McEntee says she is "currently considering the Report and the Attorney General's advice" in "relation to the issue of publication and other matters arising".
