The Annual Garda Memorial Day is being held in Dublin.
Members of the force who've lost their lives in the service of the State will be honoured at the Annual Garda Memorial Day, which gets underway at Dublin Castle at midday.
The Memorial Garden is being held there because of the historical associations of the gardai with Dublin Castle.
It's associated with An Garda Síochána since the foundation of the State.
It's where the force affirmed its authority as the National Policing Force on the 9th of February, 1922, starting the phasing out of the Royal Irish Constabulary which ended its policing role in August of that year.
The Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and the Justice Minister Heather Humphreys will be attending the event.
