Tesco to create 45 local jobs over Xmas period

Tesco Ireland is creating 1,200 temporary jobs for the Christmas season.

The positions, include 45 jobs in Cavan and Monaghan which are being advertised across its super and extra stores nationwide. The temporary festive roles are in Tesco stores in Cavan Town, Bailieboro and Monaghan town and in total they are looking for about 45 people to join the team.

The company employs more than 13,000 staff and applications are now open, with successful candidates starting in local stores at the end of November.

It's been seen as a significant boost to seasonal employment around the country.
