A tender has been published for the redevelopment of a former bank in Cavan.
Cavan County Council are seeking interested parties for the major works on the former Bank of Ireland building in Cootehill.
The former bank is located on Market Street, Magheranure.
The planning seeks to develop the old building into a new community facility comprising of a changing places room to be used by the public.
Also included is a community area, a tourism exhibition area, training, counselling, and board rooms, along with two out buildings converted to a men's and ladies's shed.
It's also proposed to include a community garden to the rear of the space and a three storey extension to accommodate a lift.
According to the Part 8 planning report, the project is 90% funded by the 2022 Town and Village Renewal Scheme with the remaining 10% match funded by Cavan County Council.
The new facility aims to bring an old protected structure back into use and to make it available to the local community.
The proposal was granted part 8 planning approval and the tender to carry out the work has now been published.
Submissions for interested parties close on the 23rd of January.
