Ten of Monaghan's 16 planned Broadband Connection Points are now live, while work is underway on the remaining six.
20 schools are also set to be connected, with Drumgossatt National School already going live.
Broadband Connection Points are public locations that will receive high-speed connectivity in the first year of the seven-year National Broadband Plan.
Councillors recently received an update on the scheme and were informed that close to €60 million is to be spent on the infrastructure in the county.
At that meeting, Sinn Féin councillor Brian McKenna questioned the possibility that the current deadlines could be substantially pushed back.
However, Neil Beirne, the Head of Strategic Communications at NBI, said there is nothing to suggest that a substantial delay is likely.
