Temperatures in some parts of the Northern Sound region hit 25 degrees today.
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year with temperatures of almost 27 degrees recorded in Roscommon.
According to information provided through the Ballyhaise weather station parts of Monaghan including Carrickmacross, and Clones hit highs of 25 degrees, while the rest of the region saw temperatures rise to 24 degrees.
Met Eireann have said the dry and sunny weather is likely to continue across the bank holiday weekend.
