One person has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in West Clare.
The two-car crash happened on the Spanish Point road out of Miltown Malbay, about 500 metres from the town’s square, around 7 o'clock last evening. It’s understood the injured person is a teenage boy who was travelling in one of the cars with several others. He was transported by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The road has remained closed overnight and the scene will be technically examined this morning. Diversions have been put in place in the area.
