A teenager has been arrested and questioned in connection with a drug seizure in Co Cavan.
The juvenile, who is understood to be aged 17, was detained at the weekend before being released without charge after gardaí from Cavan District Drugs Unit carried out a search of a property in the Ballyjamesduff area.
Local Gardai said that a property in Ballyjamesduff was searched last Thursday by the Cavan District Drugs Unit and cannabis with an estimated street value of €1,680, MDMA powder valued at €1,860 and ketamine valued at €1,140 was seized. A follow-up search led to the seizure of MDMA powder valued at €3,540 and ketamine with an estimated street value €1,560.
The total value of the drugs seized was €9,780, and other drug paraphernalia was also recovered. A male juvenile was arrested and subsequently released without charge and will now be referred to the Garda National Youth Diversion Programme.
