A 17-year-old teenager has appeared in court charged in relation to a serious assault in Cavan Town.
The teen appeared before Monaghan District Court this afternoon in relation to the incident. A man in his 20s remains in a critical condition following the alleged assault that occurred on Friday night just before midnight outside a licensed premises on the Main Street of Cavan Town.
The teenager appeared before Judge Raymond Finnegan today at Monaghan District Court. The youth was charged with assault causing harm to Brendan Lee on February 14th last outside a bar at Main Street, Abbeylands, Cavan Town.
The accused was given bail with a number of conditions attached. The man that was injured during the alleged assault is being treated in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for serious injuries.
The teenager who can’t be named due to their age will appear at Cavan District Court on March 20th to allow for directions from the DPP.
