A mother whose son has complex needs has welcomed the news that a location has been chosen for a special school in Monaghan. Minister for Education Norma Foley announced yesterday that the chosen location is Castleblayney with the specific location in the town to be announced in the coming days. Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Kathleen Maguire welcomed the news stating that she "cried tears of joy" when Minister Foley made the announcement.
Despite this, the local mother said that she "remains cautiously optimistic" as she has been let down time and time again by the system. Kathleen says she will be even happier when children are in the school and that "god willing" parents will see a new build in the foreseeable future.
