The INTO has warned its members against offering in-home tuition to students during lockdown.
It's after it emerged that some primary school teachers are advertising such services online.
Some primary school teachers have placed ads online offering one-on-one tuition for students.
Five teachers were contacted this morning, three said they were only operating on zoom at the moment, while the remaining two said they were providing the lessons in the homes of the students.
In addition, we're aware of a third teacher who is providing an in-house service during level 5 restrictions.
One teacher said that both they and the pupils wear a mask during the lesson.
In a statement, the INTO says it expects all members to abide by the public health restrictions and warned that they should not undertake any other form of paid work during the ongoing closure as it may be in breach of their employment contract.
