The Christmas break is crucial to addressing mitigation measures in schools
This is according to Cavan/Monaghan Sinn Féin TD, Matt Carthy who also added that the Government must use the festive season to ensure children are returning to school buildings in January with all of the mitigation measures necessary to keep schools open and functioning well.
He said that society needed to be ‘throwing the kitchen sink’ at the situation because to date efforts have been too slow and unhelpful.
HEPA filtration, Deputy Carthy added, has a key role to play in schools, and while the Government have finally began to acknowledge this, it has been too slow and unhelpful in actual delivery.
