Minister Heather Humphreys has indicated this week that former Minister of State, and Meath TD, Damien English, "paid a high price" for an error he made with a planning application in 2008.
The Fine Gael junior minister resigned last week, after he admitted giving incorrect information to Meath County Council, on a planning application to build a house in 2008 when he already owned a home in Castlemartin. Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Humphreys said Deputy English had been "effective" as Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail.
She pointed out that he made and error and when that was realised, the Meath TD "put his hands up". The Minister added his resignation was a "high price to pay" but the local TD would continue to represent the people of Meath West.
