The statistics also show the border region has been heavily impacted by taxi shortages with licences dropping by almost 19 per cent here.  

The lack of taxis in Killeshandra and other parts of Cavan is affecting the hospitality trade and leaves it difficult for local people to get to doctor or hospital appointments.
