Tara Mines workers have agreed to proposals to support them while they're laid off work.
All unions involved recommended the proposals be accepted.
Workers at Tara Mines this morning voted to accept proposals relating to the lay-off of 650 staff.
The proposals include a guarantee that workers will return on the same terms and conditions of employment when the mine reopens again.
There will also be an increase in the number of people who will be retained for care and maintenance of the mine during its period of closure.
The deal was recommended to members by all the unions involved. And they say staff will receive a "modest" retainer allowance for the workers who are being laid off.
Tara Mines, which has been opened since 1977, will temporarily close tomorrow.
