A Monaghan man has written to the Taoiseach to tell Simon Harris he was wrong to recognise the state of Palestine when he did. Yesterday, Spain and Norway joined Ireland in publicly recognising an independent Palestinian state.
And while Peter Reid from Annyalla agrees with a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, he emailed Simon Harris to say his timing was wrong. He told the Joe Finnegan Show that Simon Harris sent out the wrong message to Hamas who abducted and murdered Israelis and to the rest of the world who may take the message that Ireland backs terrorists.
Peter Reid, who has lived in London for the past 15 years, emailed Simon Harris and also contacted the "Tik Tok Taois" via Linkedin. Peter could see Mr Harris read his message on Linkedin as it flashed blue to notify the sender it had been opened. "A lot of people will view this as Ireland has endorsed a terrorist organisation and I totally get the disproportionate attack by Israel on them but, we can't forget the fact that Hamas went in an October morning and killed all those people, took hostages and now we as a country, have endorsed a terrorist-led government. It's insane," Peter said, "Not only did I email Simon Harris, I sent him a message on LinkedIn and I can see he read my message because it came up blue at the bottom something similar to WhatsApp."
