Taoiseach Micheál Martin has delivered the opening address to a conference taking place today in Monaghan County Museum, as part of the State's Decade of Centenaries Programme.
The event, titled "Experiences of border minority communities", is currently being live-streamed on Monaghan County Museum's Facebook page.
The conference runs until 4.30 this evening, and will feature keynote lectures and panel discussions on differing perspectives of partition.
Micheál Martin is also set to deliver a graveyard oration at an event this afternoon in Tunnyduff, Co Cavan, commemorating the late TD Paddy Smith.
The event will mark the Centenary of the late TD's sentencing to death by Court Marshall during the War of Independence.
He was spared after a truce was called between the British Army and the IRA.
