Children and families across Monaghan are invited to take part in this year's Summer Stars reading programme, which runs from July 1st until the end of August. This year, libraries have come up with creative new ways for young readers to access the programme online, and children of all ages can browse the Summer Stars collection through the public library's BorrowBox app.
Where possible, libraries will provide Summer Stars physical book lending services to children as they continue a phased re-opening.
Library staff will also host online author visits, creative writing challenges, and more over the summer.
Michael Ring, Minister for Rural and Community Development, said he was delighted that libraries are still engaging with children in the midst of the current restrictions.
