Suggestions that local TD Niamh Smyth could be in line to replace Robert Troy as a junior minister have been labelled "all speculation".

However, Northern Sound News understands that the Taoiseach hasn't made any indication yet on who may be promoted, with it being suggested he might "let the dust settle" before making an announcement.
Former Agriculture Minister Dara Calleary is also thought to be in the running, he resigned after the Golf Gate scandal in 2020.
