Parents in Cavan and Monaghan are set to save thousands of euros per year with a substantial reduction in childcare fees, as Budget measures take effect.
That's according to Minister for Social Protection and Rural & Community Development Heather Humphreys who says many parents have received notifications from creches outlining their revised fees.
From yesterday, childcare fees dropped by 25%, with an average €1,200 reduction in annual childcare costs for each child.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the local Minister said she is aware of one parent who is set to save €400 per month on fees for his two children who are in creche full time.
She added that the announced changes will make real differences to families across the region and is an important step in making childcare more affordable and accessible.
