The co-ordinator of a local Youthreach programme has reminded students that places are still available on the programme.
Youthreach provides opportunities for education, personal development, vocational training, and work experience for early school leavers or unemployed people aged between 16 and 20.
Mike Durkin, co-ordinator of Cootehill Youthreach, says there is a "continuous intake" because there are many reasons why people leave school early and they often leave several months into the academic year.
Students on the programme are given the opportunity to complete their General Learning Certificate, which opens a path for progression into many 3rd level Institutes.
Students are also paid a weekly allowance of up to €203, as well as travel allowances, to enable them to complete their studies.
