Met Eireann is warning of a danger to life for the whole country, ahead of Storm Eoywn's arrival to Ireland.
A Status Red wind warning will be in effect for the entire country on Friday, with the alert coming into place at varying times, starting at 2am, while it won't lift in some counties until 3pm in the afternoon.
Gusts of more than 130 kilometres per hour are expected, and schools and creches will remain closed while the red warning is in effect.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather, says the storm will be very severe.
