Staff at nursing homes were 'completely unprepared' for the amount of deaths over a short period, according to a member of the Government's expert panel.
The COVID-19 expert group published it's report into the handling of nursing homes during the pandemic, with over 80 recommendations to be implemented in the future.
It includes a full audit by HIQA of existing staffing levels and qualifications in all settings.
