St Bernadette relics arrive in Lisnaskea today

They'll be in the Holy Cross Church, in Lisnaskea until Friday morning with a programme of events taking place throughout today.

The relics of St. Bernadette of Lourdes are arriving in Co Fermanagh today, as part of their historic tour around Ireland. They'll be in the Holy Cross Church, in  Lisnaskea until Friday morning with a welcoming ceremony taking place at 10 am this morning.

St Bernadette saw the Virgin Mary 18 times at the Grotto in Lourdes in 1858. In September and October, the relics of St Bernadette is on a pilgrimage to Ireland for the very first time, visiting every diocese in the country.

Today's proceedings includes Visitation  and Veneration of the relics which takes place from 11am until 6pm. The full intinerary list through to Friday morning includes Anointing of the Sick at 4pm, Penitential Service at 6pm with confessions being heard from 6pm until 10pm, 6:15pm Lourdes Water Liturgy, Way of the Cross at 6:30pm followed by 7pm Mass and Torchlight Procession at 8pm. Holy Hour will be from 9 - 9:50pm, followed by 9:50pm Eucharistic Blessing. The proceedings will end at the Holy Church with Mass at 7am on Friday.
